Who we are today

Today, Fitzroy® Tracks operates across high-performance industrial and architectural applications where reliability, durability and long service life are critical.

We partner with engineers, architects and project teams delivering complex, large-scale and specialised solutions from heavy-duty industrial and government sectors to architectural projects involving large, high-performance door systems.

Our focus is on engineered systems designed for manual operation in demanding environments, where precision and long-term performance matter.

Australian Made and Owned

Australian Made and Owned®

Manufactured in Melbourne, Fitzroy® Tracks is proudly Australian Made and Owned®, continuing a legacy of local engineering and craftsmanship.

Australian Design Award®

The Fitzroy® Ball Bearing Sliding Door Tracks is a recipient of the Australian Design Award®, recognising outstanding Australian product design and engineering excellence endorsed by Standards Australia. The award reflects the strength of the continuous ball-bearing design and its contribution to reliable, high-performance sliding systems across industrial and architectural applications.

History and Heritage

Fitzroy® Tracks proudly continues a long-standing Australian engineering and manufacturing legacy established by Charles Marshall Pty Ltd in Melbourne in 1880.

The original Fitzroy® Ball Bearing Track System, introduced in 1932, quickly became the benchmark for applications requiring smooth manual operation, durability and long-term reliability.

Since then, Fitzroy® Sliding Door Systems have been widely specified across some of Australia’s most significant buildings and infrastructure projects, including the Shrine of Remembrance (Melbourne), Sydney Opera House, Parliament Houses (Melbourne and Canberra), the Anzac Memorial (Sydney) and Pentridge Prison (Melbourne), reinforcing their role in complex architectural applications.

First introduced to industrial applications via the rail sector in the early 1980s for light rail battery access, Fitzroy® Slide Systems were later developed in collaboration with NSW Fire Brigades (now Fire & Rescue NSW) for emergency services. They have since become a trusted engineered solution across both rollingstock and emergency services, enabling fast, reliable manual access to heavy, mission-critical equipment in high-pressure environments.

This enduring presence reflects a proven track record of engineering precision, durability and trusted performance across generations.
